Whatcha doin’ this Saturday night?  How about a good ‘ole fashioned square dance?  Two of our Urban Acres friends and produce sort team members, Leila Grothe and Cynthia Mulcahy, are curating a square dance this Saturday, November 12th at the Trinity River Audubon Center.  It’s FREE!

Square Dance: A Community Project, curated by Leila Grothe and Cynthia Mulcahy, proposes art as social practice in the form of an outdoor seasonal community dance at the new Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas on Saturday, November 12, 2011. This project is a collaborative initiative that insists on fellowship in our community and is consonant with the belief that art resides in every day life as social, cultural practice. Square Dance is generously funded in part by an Idea Fund Grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which supports new, risk-taking forms that help to define new practices in contemporary art.
