This Weekend’s Shares: Almost 80% Local!

June 30, 2011

We’re excited to announce that this weekend’s co-op style produce shares will be almost all LOCAL – 80% of it, actually.  Given the intense heat and lack of rain our farmers have been experiencing lately, this is a true feat in Texas right now.

Here are some of the items we’ve planned* to be in the shares this weekend…

  • Red potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, and cucumbers from Cleburne, TX
  • Plump blueberries from LaRue, TX
  • Two types of tomatoes from Austin, TX
  • Ridiculously juicy peaches {yes, they’re back!} from Blooming Grove, TX
  • Onions and grape tomatoes from Grand Saline, TX

*When working with fresh produce, availability can sometimes change last-minute.  We do our best to let you know what’s coming ahead of time, but sometimes things do change, especially when working with local farmers.  Thanks for your understanding!
