Today at UA: TV crews, honeybees, local peaches/plums, & sale!

May 26, 2011

We’ve got some exciting happenings at the Urban Acres store today – Thurs, May 26th – so come on out…

75208 Zip Code Honey – BEE there!

This afternoon, the Texas Honeybee Guild is coming to check on the bee colony living on the roof of Urban Acres, and a TV crew will be coming to film it! We’re excited to hear how the bee-autiful girls are doing – soon we’ll have our very own 75208 zip code honey – how about that for local?

Nitschke Natural Beef Talks Animal Welfare

Rumor has it that NBC is also coming by today to discuss animal welfare with Oak Cliff-dweller Lauren Nitschke of Nitschke Natural Beef.  We’re so thankful to partner with Nitschke Natural Beef to give people access to 100% grass-fed pastured meat from cows that are always treated humanely.  Healthy, happy animals make healthy food!

Texas Organic Peaches & Santa Rosa Plums

We have the first batch of ridiculously juicy Texas organic peaches in the store right now!  They are drip-down-your-chin delicious.

Also for today and tomorrow only, we are selling a fresh batch of Texas organic Santa Rosa plums. These bite-size plums taste like candy!  Both are from our farmer friends in Blooming Grove, TX.

Milk & Prepared Foods on SALE Today Only

With all the excitement, we thought we’d run a few sales – valid today only…

  • $1.00 off 1/2 gallon milk
  • $.50 off prepared foods
Milk is low-pasteurized/non-homogenized (cream on top) from Texas Daily Harvest in Yantis, TX.  Prepared foods are made by our very own gourmet chef Nicole Van Camp.

We’re open from 11am-7pm – see you there!
