Hey O.C., We’re Taking Over Delafuente Produce!

January 26, 2010

Bonnie & Craig Keaton

What started out a year ago as a fun trip to the country to get farm-fresh milk has turned into something bigger than any of us could have imagined.  Now, we’re more than excited to plant Urban Acres roots in Oak Cliff.  Our founders, Craig & Bonnie Keaton, love living in Oak Cliff and being able to give back to the community:  “Our hope for Urban Acres is that it becomes your farm store right in the middle of our neighborhood.  We want to provide you with the best quality ’staple items’ you can buy.  And it will save you a trip across the river!”

Our promise at Urban Acres is that we’ll always looks for the best quality farm-fresh foods, and we’ll never cut corners. We believe in nutrient-rich foods that are not only delicious but support local farmers who work in hot, cold, and wet weather to put food on our tables.

For now, we’re hanging out at Carlos Delafuente’s historic little produce stand.  Carlos was telling us about taking it over in 1990, and he feels like he’s passing the torch to us.  So please come out and see us this Saturday, January 30th from 9am-3pm. Location: 1424 West Davis Street, Dallas, TX 75208  (Map).  We look forward to meeting you and talking about great food!

I just can’t wait for the store to open! My husband and I drive down Davis each day on our way home from work and check out the progress with the new store. The neighborhood welcomes you!!!
